Our many co-curricular opportunities enhance our students’ connection to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community.
We believe that school life should provide students with multiple chances to test their minds, their bodies, and their spirits, and to discover and foster their unique voices. We want each and every student to learn what “lights them up;” to find and develop their individual passion.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s timetable provides routine and builds community – key aspects of a positive school experience. Community time, scheduled weekly, allows for connection, engagement and support. School life opportunities - including intramurals, clubs, open mics and student leadership committees - are scheduled within and outside the school day for variety, balance and fun.

House
The House system — which creates micro-communities within the broader school context — has been an integral part of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s culture since our founding, and today includes eight Houses. The House structure creates positive bonds across grades and builds strong interpersonal connections through the various House spirit activities and school-wide friendly competitions.
Leadership Opportunities
Â鶹ÊÓƵ strives to help all students recognize their leadership potential, in both formal and informal situations. We do not have a prefect system; instead, we give all students many opportunities to take the lead. Our wide-ranging school life leadership committees and teams cover all aspects of school life; membership extends from Grades 7-12 for most committees, and committees are primarily student-driven.
We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
