Learning & Growing

Technology

    • Next-generation wireless technology gives students the ability to work anywhere on campus.

Technology and collaboration tools are fully integrated into 鶹Ƶ's program.
Technology at 鶹Ƶ focuses on how teachers and students can explore new ideas, be creative and promote positive connections to their peers and their community. We continuously assess new developments in hardware and software to ensure that our teachers have the best tools to personalize students’ learning experience.

Highlights of our approach to technology include:
  • Offering students the opportunity to choose their learning device through our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program
  • Campus-wide wireless coverage gives students the ability to work anywhere
  • Secure cloud access to school content through Google Workspaces, Adobe Cloud and Microsoft OneNote
  • Integrated student ID card for cafe and school store purchases, secure access to the building, and access to three colour printers
  • Online 鶹Ƶ portal ("ON") provides one-stop access to timetables, homework, athletic teams, clubs, report cards, school news, events, and course selections
Digital literacy is a major focus of our program. Students learn not only to use a wide array of hardware and software tools to support their learning, but to be mindful of their digital footprint.

Technology in the Classroom

Every classroom offers wireless A/V connections and interactive projectors to give students and teachers the freedom to move around the space as needed. Specialized spaces have also been created so students can access breakout rooms with projectors, innovation lab with fabrication 3D printers, and a digital theater to see movies, plays, and guest speakers.

Inside and outside of the classroom, student learning is visible to the teacher using cloud technology that shares student work to a teacher dashboard in real time. This virtual teacher dashboard allows our teachers to get an overall snapshot of individual student learning and to easily give constructive, immediate feedback.

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and as settlers, we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
